AV Event Technician

Advanced Systems Group LLC provides managed support services for event production facilities within a prominent Fortune 500 company. We are currently seeking a full time AV Technician with emphasis on client interaction, and running equipment for small live events. Approximately 50 to 400 in audience size. 

Responsibilities:

Client interaction: Assess the client's needs for their event, quickly provide the technical solution for them, and operate the equipment that is necessary. Delightfully manage client expectations by understanding the limitations of the systems, and clearly communicating a solution within what is possible. Provide minor video editing of the content at the conclusion of the event.  

Operation of event technology including:

  • Audio consoles - Mixing several sources in a live PA, to recording, video conference, and live streaming systems. Sources include; several wireless mics, video playback, audio playback, laptop audio, far end video conference, among others.
  • Projection - Help clients display laptops, and overhead cameras on projectors, confidence monitors, delay screens. 
  • Robo Cams -  Pre-set static shots to send to recording, video conference, and live streaming systems. 

Troubleshoot issues: The role is responsible for real time troubleshooting and repair of equipment issues. This responsibility includes effective escalation and communication of equipment failures to our maintenance team for fixing/replacing equipment. 

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in related A/V fields running live events.
  • Working knowledge of audio, video, broadcast production technologies (switchers, routers, digital audio consoles, graphics stations, control systems, wireless mics, cameras, and cabling)
  • Experience with digital consoles and knowledge of digital audio protocols
  • Familiarity with video routing, scaling, and switching
  • Knowledge and experience with broadcast cabling and cable management techniques a plus
  • Termination skills (soldering and crimp) a plus
  • Lighting experience a plus
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Ability to read technical documentation
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
