Sr. Broadcast IT Engineer

Advanced Systems Group LLC provides managed services support for major players in online video and digital media. We are looking for a Sr Broadcast IT Engineer to join the team onsite at our clients facilities in Playa Vista.  

Primary broadcast IT support duties include; system design, specification, configuration, administration, deployment and general support of local area network hardware, software and telecommunication services such as terminals, system software, software applications, servers, routers, bridges, switches, and cabling.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Help create policies and procedures which will maintain the facilities post and production environments in a state of high efficiency and performance
  • Facilitate post workflows with in-house and out-of-house producers and orient them to available resources
  • Assist with software support including Adobe, Avid, and Final Cut
  • Organize the storage hierarchy and naming conventions for the shared storage pool
  • Act as our in-house archivist
  • Provide Tier 1 technical support for the edit rooms and storage infrastructure
  • Function as onsite Engineer for YTSLA, and collaborate with other IT personnel at remote sites.
  • Develop,  implement and administer policies and procedures related to network hardware and software acquisition, use, support, security and backup. Coordinates third-party maintenance for network hardware, software and telecommunication services. 
  • Establish and maintain network users, user environment, directories and structure, rights, network printing and security.
  • Responds to the needs and questions of network users concerning their access to resources on the network and the operation of various software programs.
  • Communicates with other departments to report and resolve software, hardware and operational problems. Communicate with suppliers regarding bugs, and follow-up to make sure fixes are received and tested.
  • Research and evaluate new technology and share information with Senior Management on an as needed basis.
  • Develop and implement disaster recovery procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’ degree in computer science or related field
  • 7+ years working in a broadcast or post production environment.
  • Experience with production and post production workflows including custom MAM, SAN, workflows is preferred.
  • Strong problem solving and communications skills required
  • In depth knowledge of Linux, Windows, Mac OS, Chef, SDLC, LTO and networking protocols
