Advanced Systems Group, LLC provides technical services and event production services for the media and entertainment industry.  With clients across the country and around the world – from the broadcast, film, creative, government, and corporate video markets – Advanced Systems Group LLC is a leading provider of media and event production services. 

We are seeking Event Technicians to join our event production team onsite at our client's headquarters in Mountain View, CA. We are currently hiring for multiple roles, both day hires as well as full time positions.

Stage Manager

  • Responsible for overall appearance of the event based on client requested relayed through the Producer
  • Makes all calls regarding scene changes, stage moves, lighting adjustments - All in room aesthetics
  • Makes cals for all changes to in room projection, screens, DSMs - Anything to be showed on a display in the room.
  • Standardizes vernacular and language regarding calls over Comm.

Camera Op 

  •  Responsible for setting up, color correction and white balance of all cameras to be used for an event
  • Usually there is a single Camera Op for multiple robotic (PTZ) cameras.
  • If there is a "manned" camera position, that would require a separate technician.
  • Any and all camera positions take direction from the Director

Screen Switcher 

  • Handles switching for all local screens in the room
  • Takes direction from the Stage Manager
  • Responsible for engineering and execution of any Picture-in-Picture, keying or any other special requests from the client
  • All all in room special screen requests are relayed through the Producer

Graphics Op 

  • Responsible for loading, testing and checking all slide decks
  • Responsible for following event content closely to advance / backup slides during a performance
  • Responsible for video playback during the event
  • Manages any timers being used (Count-up, count-down, etc.)


  • Responsible for any client-interfacing stage connections:
  • Laptop connections
  • Document camera for phone demos
  • Loads / checks / tests all videos for content and quality
  • Responsible for all equipment broadcasting to the outside world
  • Constantly checks with crew members if they have what they need
  • Ready to handle any issues during the show

Lighting Op 

  • Initial design, setup of walk-in and show lighting
  • Makes adjustments based on client requests, all requests are relayed through the Producer.
  • Operates any lighting changes, as directed by the Stage Manager


  • Lead audio engineer
  • Manages gain structure / EQ / level of all microphones
  • Manages in room audio quality
  • Manages all audio feeds to record decks / video conference / stream
  • Responsible for separate music / audio feeds for in-room and stream (if needed)

A2 - Assistant audio engineer

  • Manages all microphones backstage
  • Responsible for placing lav / lapel microphones on presenters properly and respectfully
  • Responsible for making the presenter feel comfortable with the microphone / microphone techniques
  • Calls mics going-to and coming-off stage to the A1
  • Can be responsible for presenter clickers, stage moves, etc., as directed by the Stage Manager


  • Initial meeting and coordination with the client.
  • Makes event space recommendations based on client needs.
  • Interfaces with the client during rehearsals and the event.
  • Takes client requests, suggestions and translates to the Engineer to implement.

Crew Chief 

  • Main PoC for all booked crew members.
  • Main PoC for all technicians with any scheduling conflicts up to the event.
  • Makes sure everyone has what they need and makes sure everyone is there for Crew Call
  • Keeps crew in line


  • Responsible for uniform, high-quality images from cameras and video sources
  • Responsible for all calls and switching "Program Feed" to record decks / video conference / stream
  • Directs camera op on framing upcoming shots
  • Manages all feeds going to the outside world


  • Minimum 2 years experience in event production
  • Ability to interface with both technical and creative members of the event production ecosystem
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to take a service-oriented approach to this position, with a desire to help clients achieve their best result
  • Responsiveness to queries a must, with updates and follow-through
